Powder metallurgy MIM parts are metal parts produced through metal injection molding (MIM), a technology used to create complex three-dimensional metal components. It is an advanced manufacturing process that creates intricate, high-precision and complex parts out of metal powder. To produce MIM parts, metal powder is fed into a heated, rotating cylinder, where it is atomized into small particles that are then injected into a heated die that contains a pre-made cavity. After the metal is injected into the die, it is cured and then solidified. These parts are then machined, polished and inspected. The final result is a high-precision, complex metal part with excellent mechanical properties.
